MIDVALE, Utah (AP) - Two men may be held criminally responsible for an officer’s injuries after he was bit by a police dog during their arrest.

The Deseret News reports (https://bit.ly/1e50orL ) that Unified Police Lt. Bill Robertson says the K-9 bit the officer while Lugardo Ramos of Midvale and Rubel Gregory Quintana of Salt Lake City were being apprehended following a pursuit Wednesday.

The two men allegedly didn’t respond to officers’ attempts to stop them while they were driving. Police spiked their vehicle, and the two men were arrested.

Robertson says the K-9 wasn’t used to subdue the two men.

Ramos and Quintana are being investigated for assault on a peace officer, as well as fleeing police and obstruction of justice. They weren’t charged as of Thursday.
