PHOENIX (AP) - The Phoenix area has been selected as the site for one of seven regional teams being established nationally under a workforce development program.

The U.S. Commerce Department and the Aspen Institute announced Thursday that the Phoenix team for the Communities that Work Partnership will be comprised of the Arizona Commerce Authority, the Arizona Technology Council, Cox Communications, and Western Alliance Bank.

The Commerce Department said the seven regional teams will begin a 15-month effort to pursue economic growth strategies.
