KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee has hired Ryan Robinson, director of public relations for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, as senior associate athletics director for communications.

The university announced the hiring Thursday.

Robinson replaces Jimmy Stanton, who was hired in May as vice president for the NFL’s Tennessee Titans. Robinson starts July 31 and will oversee media relations, public relations, Internet operations and creative services. He will report to athletic director Dave Hart and be a member of the athletic department’s leadership team.

Robinson has been with the Jaguars since 2005. He also was executive director of Peyton Manning’s PeyBack Foundation between 2001 and 2005 and also worked for the Indianapolis Colts.
