MUSKEGON, Mich. (AP) - A western Michigan woman has pleaded no contest to second-degree murder in the slaying of the father of her young daughter.

The Muskegon Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/1Ss20JH ) that Shondrea Parker’s plea was entered Friday in Muskegon County Circuit Court.

A no contest plea isn’t an admission of guilt but is treated as such for sentencing. A judge capped her maximum prison sentence at 30 years.

Police say Parker got in an argument with 24-year-old Calvin Webb and stabbed him in the chest Oct. 16. A detective wrote in a report that Parker said “she was upset that she caught Webb” with another woman.
