SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Salt Lake Comic Con will get a boost of red, white and blue with the addition of Captain America himself to the line-up.

Organizers announced Friday that actor Chris Evans will assemble with fans at the convention this fall.

Event co-founder Dan Farr credits loyal fans of the Salt Lake Comic Con for helping to get Evans to come.

Evans will appear during the event’s final day.

The Salt Lake Comic Con has grown significantly since it debuted in September 2013 with an estimated 72,000 people turning out. More than 120,000 people attended the three-day convention last year.

No word yet if Evans’ “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” co-star Robert Redford, who founded Utah’s Sundance Film Festival, will be appearing.
