GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Officials say lightning is the probable cause of a small wildfire burning near Red Canyon in western Colorado.

Glenwood Springs Fire Chief Gary Tillotson says about 10 acres were burning and nothing of significant value is at risk.

The fire apparently started Friday on rugged Bureau of Land Management terrain.

A federal crew, the Upper Colorado River Interagency Fire district, Carbondale and Rural Fire Protection District and Glenwood Springs firefighters were on the scene.

In other areas, firefighters are monitoring small wildfires in the Rio Grande National Forest near Capulin, the White River National Forest northwest of Eagle and a wildfire near Meeker. No major damage has been reported.
