DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Des Moines police say officers have arrested a man in connection with a shooting downtown just blocks west of the Des Moines River.

Des Moines television station KCCI says (https://bit.ly/1gGDSHK ) reports of shots fired came in early Saturday, just after midnight.

Responding officers say they heard three to six shots fired. Numerous people fled the area.

Police say officers began chasing an armed suspect and that the suspect eventually dropped his gun and was arrested without further incident.

No one was injured in the shooting. The suspect’s name has not yet been released.
