MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A former Minot city attorney who was fired for insubordination is asking a federal appeals court to take up her complaint that the city of Minot misused her consumer credit information.

Colleen Auer petitioned the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals asking the court to withdraw its dismissal order that prohibits further lawsuits on the issue. She is also appealing the court’s authorization allowing the city and clerk of court to destroy copies of her credit report.

Auer tells the Minot Daily News (https://bit.ly/1SrptuL) she wants the court to order the city to reinstate her as its attorney. She says denying her the job because of animosity from city officials panders to that animosity and allows the abuse of power to continue.

City officials declined to comment.
