DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - A Davenport man who was already on Iowa’s sex offender registry has again been convicted of sexually abusing a child.

The Quad-City Times reports (https://bit.ly/1J4YLar ) that 55-year-old Melvin Lucier was found guilty Thursday of one count of second-degree sex abuse for fondling a developmentally delayed 5-year-old girl in his trailer home last year.

Lucier faces life in prison when he is sentenced Sept. 3.

Lucier still faces trial in other abuse cases, including a trial on Aug. 3 on two sex abuse counts for what police say was his fondling of a 4-year-old girl dozens of time. He also faces trial in October on several counts for a different abuse case.

Lucier was previously convicted in 1995 in a case involving a 10-year-old girl.
