ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta Hawks CEO Steve Koonin and sports commentator Brad Nessler are taking part in the launch of a student broadcast academy in Atlanta.

The NFHS Network, a sports media company, kicked off the three-day academy on Friday at the Westin Buckhead. The academy was created to help students develop skills through hands-on broadcast training sessions and workshops.

Students will be recognized during the annual awards ceremony, which will be held Saturday night.

Other speakers include ESPN anchor Chris Cotter and Adam Zimmerman, a sports journalism professor at the University of Georgia.

The NFHS Network is an online site to watch high school sports and other events live and on demand.
