GREEN BROOK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities are searching for a young central New Jersey boy whose parents apparently took him from his legal guardian.

Somerset County prosecutors say 8-year-old Everett Streko was last seen around seen around 10:30 p.m. Thursday by his grandmother at her home in Green Brook.

The grandmother noticed Friday morning that her 34-year-old daughter-in-law, Amy Streko, the boy’s mother who also was living at the residence, was missing along with the boy and all of his belongings. The grandmother, who is the boy’s guardian, reported the boy missing at noon on Friday.

Authorities soon learned the boy’s father, Michael Streko, had moved out of his Neptune City home. Michael and Amy Streko are being sought on a child interference charge.

The child is 4 feet tall and weighs about 60 pounds. He has green eyes, brown hair and fair skin.
