ACTON, Maine (AP) - The York County sheriff’s department says a 20-year-old Sanford man is in custody and facing charges of leaving the scene of a crash that killed a pedestrian.

York County deputies say 50-year-old Kenneth Allen, formerly of Old Orchard Beach, was found dead by Willy’s Ale House in Acton around 12:40 a.m. Saturday.

Officials said witnesses told them that Allen had just left the bar and was walking north on Route 109 when a small car northbound car struck him.

The department says Cameron White surrendered around 9 a.m. Saturday. He was charged with vehicular manslaughter. His car was towed to the sheriff’s office for examination.

White is being held at the York County Jail on $25,000 bail. He’s due in court next week. It’s unclear if White has a lawyer.
