YORK, S.C. (AP) - A York County man faces three years in prison after police and prosecutors said he beat up his girlfriend, threatened to kill her and also beat up her young son in January.

The Herald of Rock Hill reports (https://bit.ly/1CICMFt) 16th Circuit assistant solicitor Erin Joyner said 23-year-old Travis Dwayne Stokes of Rock Hill pleaded guilty on Thursday to criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and unlawful conduct toward a child.

Joyner said Stokes beat his girlfriend so badly she suffered a broken nose and injuries and cuts to her jaw and face. Joyner said Stokes also threatened to kill the woman and set out materials to use.

In addition, Joyner said the girlfriend’s young son was present during the incident and was also was hit by Stokes.
