LE MARS, IOWA (AP) - A thunderstorm with straight-line winds of more than 50 mph has toppled trees across the northwest Iowa city of Le Mars.

The Le Mars Daily Sentinel reports (https://bit.ly/1OmyHrF ) that the storm blew in late Friday night, with a 54 mph gust bringing down two trees on Central Avenue South.

Two other trees brought down Friday night blocked city streets.

Le Mars Fire-Rescue Chief David Schipper says crews removed one that fell across Central Avenue Southwest and another that cut off Fourth Avenue Southeast.

The Plymouth County Communications Center says it took reports of other trees in the area being toppled.
