HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Authorities in Hartford are investigating the death of a 1-year-old boy who was found unconscious in a bathtub earlier in the week.

Police said Antonio Armando Delgado Jr. died Saturday after being removed from life support. He had been at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center since Tuesday, when his parents told police they found him unresponsive.

Police say it appears the baby drowned in the bathtub. An autopsy is scheduled. No charges have been filed.

Firefighters responded to the family’s home at about 2:30 p.m. after getting a call for help. The parents, 33-year-old Antonio Armando Delgado Sr. and 27-year-old Tamara Lee Santana, tried to drive their son to the hospital and met up with a fire crew which gave him CPR and rushed him to the hospital.
