RENO, Nev. (AP) - Reno police say a car accident has led them to a suspect in a domestic violence incident that left a female injured.

Police say officers responded Saturday around 10:20 a.m. to a home where the female victim showed life-threatening injuries.

She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Deputies were then called to the scene of a single-vehicle accident and the driver, 32-year-old Dempsey Hood, was seen running on foot.

Deputies captured him after he went a short distance.

Their investigation determined that Hood was connected to the earlier incident.

He has been arrested on multiple charges including battery causing substantial bodily harm and reckless driving.
