MIAMI (AP) - Key Largo residents are recognizing the 72nd anniversary of a World War II U-boat skirmish off their coast.
The Miami Herald (https://hrld.us/1MiG19q ) reports that on July 18, 1943, a Navy blimp spotted a German U-boat. An ensuing battle left the German submarine damaged, the American airship destroyed and one sailor lost at sea.
