DENVER (AP) - Denver Mayor Michael Hancock has taken the oath of office for a second term.

Hancock was easily re-elected in May with 80 percent of the vote and on Monday he was sworn in to a second four-year term. He won his first term in 2011 by defeating former state Sen. Chris Romer in a runoff.

The festivities to celebrate Hancock’s inauguration to a second term include an open house at his office in the afternoon, and an evening party at the Denver Botanic Gardens with music and free food.
