HAMPTON, Va. (AP) - A goose on the loose created a headache for Hampton Roads motorists.

The Virginia Department of Transportation tells media outlets that traffic was stopped around 6:30 a.m. Monday after a goose was spotted in the westbound lanes of the Hampton Roads-Bridge Tunnel. Traffic backed up for several miles while crews rounded up the goose.

A vehicle then broke down in the westbound lanes, caused the backup to increase.

VDOT advised motorists to take an alternate route.
