CINCINNATI (AP) - A Cincinnati mission focused on helping the homeless will celebrate the completion of its new site with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The City Gospel Mission will open its second new building Thursday. Officials say local elected officials and mission supporters will take part.

The building will house The Lord’s Gym, a jobs program, a men’s addiction recovery program, and administrative offices. The mission’s homeless services building opened April 9, with 74 emergency shelter beds and a kitchen that serves up to 150 people per meal three times daily.

The new campus in Cincinnati’s Queensgate area is part of a $42 million Homeless to Homes city initiative.

The City Gospel Mission in Cincinnati dates to 1924. It also serves at-risk youth with programs.
