TAYLORSVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A bowler from Taylorsville, Kentucky, is traveling to Los Angeles to compete in the Special Olympics World Summer Games.

Amanda Browning is leaving Tuesday with three Special Olympics teammates and three coaches.

The July 25th opening ceremony will be shown live on ESPN.

Browning’s competition begins July 27 in the four-person team event. She will continue on July 28 with a doubles event. Browning will close out her competitions with the singles event on July 30.

The 32-year-old is the only Kentucky representative on the Special Olympics USA team who is making her first appearance at a World Games event. The other Kentucky team members are rhythmic gymnast Danielle Blakeney of Erlanger, artistic gymnast Lee Dockins of Russellville and swimmer Chris Willis of Owensboro.
