YORK, Pa. (AP) - Police say a nearly six-hour standoff in south-central Pennsylvania came to an end when police found the man dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.

Authorities responded to the mobile home at 12:47 p.m. Sunday for a suicidal man. West Manchester Township police set up a perimeter around 67-year-old Barry Ness’ home after hearing a gunshot.

Police sent a robot into the mobile home and confirmed Ness was dead.

The incident is under investigation.
