PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Sheriff’s deputies say they have arrested three men after a group got into an angry, physical confrontation with marine patrol at Detroit Lake.

The Oregonian reports (https://bit.ly/1MD6f3p ) that a group of 15 to 20 men got into a fight with the Marion County Sheriff’s marine patrol around 6 p.m. Saturday night.

Deputy Dave Zahn was questioning the operator of a pontoon boat he suspected of being drunk after two other boaters complained that the pontoon had nearly collided with them.

But the operator was with a group of about 40 people, about half of whom began yelling and throwing empty beer cans at Zahn and the two 17-year-old Marion County cadets accompanying him.

Marion County sheriff’s office has charged one person with boating under the influence and two others with disorderly conduct.
