NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say no officers were injured when a pickup struck their police cruisers.

Cedar Rapids television station KCRG reports (https://bit.ly/1I5RiCU ) that the pickup hit a side mirror of an Iowa City police cruiser early Monday morning as the officer conducted traffic stop on U.S. Highway 218.

Several officers soon joined a pursuit of the pickup. Police say the truck then hit a North Liberty police cruiser on northbound Interstate 380. The officer had gotten out to set up spike strips.

The pickup driver was taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. His name hasn’t been released.
