KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) - Officials have released the name of the man who died in a house fire in the community of Evergreen.

KCFW-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1JbsOxb ) that 57-year-old Howard Wayne Poier was found dead in his home Saturday morning after neighbors reported smoke coming from his house.

Captain James Boyce with Evergreen Fire Rescue says it only took five minutes to put out the fire, which had been contained to one room.

Poier had reportedly lived alone and had been the only person in the home at the time.

Boyce says they don’t know if the home had smoke detectors or if they had been working.

The cause of Poier’s death is still being investigated.
