CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - More than two dozen entities have received litter control grants from the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection.

The DEP says it awarded matching grants totaling more than $71,000 to 28 solid waste authorities, county commissions and municipalities.

The grants included $3,000 awarded to the Town of Belle to help pay for a street sweeper and $3,000 awarded to the McDowell County Commission for razing structures.
