SEATTLE (AP) - A federal judge has sentenced two men to three years in prison for allowing another man to manufacture hash oil in their Bellevue apartment in 2013.

U.S. Attorney Annette Hayes says Jesse Kaplan of Redmond and Daniel Strycharske of Kirkland were sentence Monday. They must spend three years under supervision once they’re released.

During the manufacturing process in 2013, the gas exploded and caused people at the apartment complex to sustain injuries while fleeing the fire. Among them was Nan Campbell, an 87-year-old who was Bellevue’s first female mayor. She broke her pelvis and later died of complications.

Two other residents suffered broken bones.

U.S. District Judge James Robart sentenced David Schultz in June to nine years in prison for making the hash oil at the Hampton Greens Apartments.
