SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) - A committee has made its recommendation to Sioux City leaders for a proposed winter recreational park with a price tag almost $14 million less than expected.

The Sioux City Journal (https://bit.ly/1LzIR8j ) reports the facility, which could include sledding, tubing, skiing and a lodge, was initially estimated to cost $18 million. City officials estimated costs for the facility would be about $4.3 million.

At Monday’s City Council meeting, the council voted to accept Cone Park Committee’s recommendation and forward it to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
