FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Firefighters reported finding a deceased woman after breaking into a burning Florida Panhandle home.

Fire officials say crews responded to the Fort Walton Beach house Monday morning after a neighbor reported smoke and that a person might be inside.

Rescuers from the Ocean City-Wright Fire Control District arrived within minutes and broke down the door. The woman’s body was found inside, and a hamster was safely recovered from a vehicle outside the home.

Fire officials called the blaze suspicious.

An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman told the Northwest Florida Daily News (https://goo.gl/LDS7tt ) that they were investigating the case as a possible suicide. They weren’t immediately identifying the dead woman.
