PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) - The family of a missing 27-year-old Hermiston man has stepped up efforts to find him on the one-month anniversary of his disappearance.

The East Oregonian reports (https://bit.ly/1g1YVED ) that they last saw Marcus Wise on the afternoon of June 18, when he told his father he was going to walk his dog.

Wise’s friend Audrey Harshman says someone found the dog wandering around later that day. Wise was nowhere in sight and had left his phone at home.

Harshman says it would be out of character for Wise to abandon his dog.

Wise’s parents reported him missing but Harshman says there haven’t been many leads to go on.

Harshman says that if Wise is hiding out somewhere, all family and friends want is a phone call saying he is OK.
