TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - Tacoma fire officials say about 30 guests at a hotel in Tacoma were forced to flee Tuesday morning when a fire broke out in a stairwell.

The News Tribune reports (https://is.gd/AY6ld8 ) that firefighters were called to the Red Lion Hotel at about 7:30 a.m.

Tacoma Fire Department spokesman Joe Meinecke says they found flames coming from a stairwell that is separated from the guest rooms. The fire spread into an interior stairwell on three floors and smoke seeped into the hallways.

No one was injured. Fire officials don’t know yet what cause the fire.
