MOORPARK, Calif. (AP) - The California Highway Patrol says a man has been arrested following a suspected drunken driving crash that killed his passenger and injured eight people in another vehicle in Ventura County.

The CHP says the collision happened following rains Sunday evening in Moorpark.

A car driven by 32-year-old Andres Dominguez spun out into oncoming traffic, colliding with another vehicle. Both cars overturned.

A passenger riding with Dominguez died at the scene. All of the eight occupants in the other vehicle - three adults and five children - were hospitalized in unknown conditions.

The Ventura County Star reports (https://bit.ly/1CTd4Ok ) Dominguez was seriously injured and taken to a hospital. The Culver City resident was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter. It wasn’t immediately known if he has a lawyer.
