FARMINGTON, N.Y. (AP) - If a tree falls on a “zombie home,” does anyone care?

George Decker does because the home in question is next door to his mother’s house in the Ontario County town of Farmington, 15 miles southeast of Rochester.

WHEC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1VoLhLA ) a severe thunderstorm last weekend caused a 60-foot tree to fall on a neighboring house that has been vacant for years after the bank foreclosed on the former owner.

The house is what’s known as a “zombie home,” a property no longer under control of the owner but not yet under control of a bank or lender.

Decker says the property has become an eyesore, and now it has a large tree resting on it.

A town official says he has been told by the property managers that the tree will be removed.
