SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Syracuse residents will have a chance to tell state regulators about their phone and internet service.

Mayor Stephanie Miner said Monday that the State Public Service Commission has added Syracuse to its statewide hearing schedule as it assesses the telecommunications industry in New York.

The hearing will be held at City Hall on the evening of Aug. 6.

Miner had asked the PSC earlier this month to hold a public hearing in Syracuse, where she says there is virtually no competition for internet services.
