BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) - A volunteer swim coach at Bentonville High School has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and Internet stalking of a child.

A probable cause affidavit says that the Monday arrest of the 50-year-old from Rogers came after a 14-year-old boy’s relative reported to police that the teen was involved in a sexual relationship with an older male.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1JvNj3u ) reports that the teen told police that he met the man through a smartphone app. They eventually exchanged phone numbers.

Police say they recovered text messages between the man and the teen. In one of the texts, the teen tells him that he was in the eighth grade.

Prosecutors haven’t filed formal charges against the man. A judge has set his bond at $75,000.
