WEST POINT, Miss. (AP) - A West Point woman has been sentenced to life in prison after her conviction of murder in a 2009 fatal shooting.

The Commercial Dispatch reports (https://bit.ly/1TOlRW5 ) that a Clay County jury on Friday convicted 37-year-old Tameshia Shelton of murder in the shooting death of 21-year-old Danelle Young of Forest.

Authorities say Young was found shot to death in the yard of a home in October 2009. A .22-caliber pistol was also found in the yard.
