CORNWALL, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife is going to be celebrating the opening of a new wildlife management area in the Addison County town of Cornwall.

On July 28, the public is invited to attend a celebration of the 330-acre addition to the Lemon Fair Wildlife Management Area.

Officials say the area contains a slow-moving stream that meanders through wetlands, farm fields, and some of the most productive wildlife habitat in this region of Vermont. The addition increases the size of the Lemon Fair Management Area to 744 acres.

The lands were purchased for $325,000 in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resource Conservation Service, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and the Vermont Land Trust.
