LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department says improvements to Interstate 630 will require overnight lane closures in the Little Rock area.

Officials say a highway crew will improve the driving surface on the I-630 railroad overpass just west of Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock. The work will reduce the roadway’s westbound traffic to two lanes by closing the outside lane within the work zone.

Officials say it will also reduce I-630 eastbound traffic to one lane after the inside and center lanes are closed within the work zone. The work will require drivers to use caution while merging onto I-630 from various ramps along the roadway.

Lane closures are planned between 7 p.m. Sunday and 5 a.m. Monday and again from 7 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday.
