UNDERWOOD, N.D. (AP) - Two parents in central North Dakota who are already facing drug-related charges are accused of felony child neglect.

Thirty-five-year-old Joshua Wirkus was originally charged with endangering by fire and ingesting a controlled substance after he allegedly set a garage on fire believing his wife was inside. His wife, 33-year-old Meagan Wirkus, was also charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

The Bismarck Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1Mo7wxq ) both parents were charged with felony child neglect on Thursday.

Deputies found a 5-month-old boy and a 9-month-old boy in the couple’s Underwood apartment. The boys allegedly were left unattended with multiple items of drug paraphernalia inside the home.

Both parents are in custody at the McLean County Sheriff’s Office.
