AZTEC, N.M. (AP) - A New Mexico bail bondsman is now the one who needs bailing out.

The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office says Daniel Goldberg was arrested Saturday for allegedly defrauding people he bonded out of jail.

Authorities say Goldberg faces two counts of fraud and is being held on a $10,000 bond.

Sheriff’s deputies say they were notified in May that Goldberg was accused of committing fraud against his clients. An arrest warrant was then issued.

The charges are for fraud that is between $500 and $2,500.

Deputies are asking anyone who thinks they may have been a victim of fraud by Goldberg to come forward.

It was not known if Goldberg had an attorney.
