July 26—There were at least two incidents of retail theft Saturday, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Fern Ridge.

The first case happened at 2:45 p.m. at the Kinsley’s ShopRite in Chestnuthill Township, police say.

Dina Lopoplo, 63, of Albrightsville, removed three AA batteries from a large pack and placed them in her purse, police say. Lopoplo paid for her groceries and other items, except for the batteries, police say.

She was charged with retail theft.

The second case was at the Dollar General store on Route 209 in Effort. Around 3:35 p.m., a minor came into the store, selected an electronic device and then left the store with the item without paying for it, police say.

The minor, who was not identified, was also charged with retail theft.
