SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A taxi has crashed through a chicken and pizza shop in Springfield, but authorities say no one has been hurt.

WGGB/WSHM television (https://bit.ly/1Im1Qy3) reports police and fire personnel were called to the New York Fried Chicken and Pizza shop on State Street at about 1 p.m. Sunday.

Fire department spokesman Dennis Leger said no one was hurt when the cab went through the store front, into the counter and over some tables.

The business owner was in a back stockroom, and there was no one in the taxi. The driver was able to get out of the car on his own.

Leger said the building has been temporarily condemned until repairs can be made, and the health department will supervise disposal of any food that can’t be saved.

Police are investigating the crash.
