GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Hockey fans can now take a trip down memory lane through thousands of trading cards and memorabilia that the University of North Dakota has opened to the public.

The school recently acquired a collection from a graduate that contains over 3,000 cards spanning from 1969 through 2011. It includes notable UND players Dennis Hextall, Dave Christian, Tony Hrkac, Jonathan Toews, Matt Greene and T.J. Oshie.

Many of the early cards in the Paul Rohde Hockey Card Collection were printed in Canada, are bilingual and feature several extinct and relocated NHL franchises.

A photo of former UND coach Cliff “Fido” Purpur during his time as Chicago Blackhawks player is also part of the collection.

School officials say some trading cards will eventually be digitized to allow people to access them online.
