PHOENIX (AP) - Bond has been set at $1 million for a Russian man accused of fatally shooting a woman before being arrested at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Igor Zubko didn’t have an attorney at his initial court appearance Monday.

The 26-year-old Zubko was arrested Friday night on suspicion of first-degree murder, burglary, kidnapping and other charges.

Phoenix police say Zubko told them the shooting was accidental.

Authorities say 22-year-old Shayley Estes was found dead in a south Phoenix home along with a handgun and shell casings on the floor.

Court documents show Estes served an order of protection on Zubko on July 14 and he had sent her several threatening text messages.

Police went to the airport after discovering Zubko had purchased a one-way ticket for a flight to San Francisco.
