BOSTON (AP) - Gov. Charlie Baker says he’s not going to question the U.S. Olympic Committee’s decision to withdrawn its selection of Boston as the U.S. site entry for 2024.

Baker said at a news conference he was never pressured by the USOC to support the Boston bid. He said he stuck to a timetable he announced in March to hear an independent consultant’s report before making his decision but that time frame didn’t work for the committee.

Baker and legislative leaders said they expect to learn useful information from the report, expected next month. All have said they didn’t support using taxpayer money for the Olympics.

Baker credited Boston 2024 for assembling a “very credible bid” that contained useful information that can be incorporated into economic development and transportation planning going forward.
