CHALMETTE, La. (AP) - St. Bernard Parish authorities say there are no obvious signs of foul play evident on the remains of a decomposing body recovered from the Mississippi River.

NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports (https://bit.ly/1HUCqKK) a woman walking with a friend on the levee near the Chalmette Battlefield spotted the body floating in the river Sunday morning.

The St. Bernard Coroner’s Office said there were no signs of trauma, but an autopsy will be performed to identify the remains and determine the cause of death.
