MACON, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say an unidentified body found decomposing in the Ocmulgee River over the weekend was wearing a rubber bracelet that read “Prom 2015.”

Macon-Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones has told local media that the deceased black man had a black and gold rubber bracelet on. Jones says he can’t tell if anything else is on the bracelet besides the words “Prom 2015.”

The man’s body was found Saturday morning and was removed from the river by a boat crew with the local fire department.

Jones says the body was badly decomposed, and he has been unable to determine how long the man had been in the water.

Jones says an autopsy has been scheduled for next week in an effort to identify the man and determine the cause of death.
