WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - An official ruling that a Worcester man found dead upside down in a trash barrel last year died of natural causes does not sit well with the man’s brother.

The Telegram & Gazette (https://bit.ly/1fA1v3Q ) reports that the medical examiner ruled that 49-year-old David Beshai died of a form of encephalitis.

Beshai was spotted by a motorist who saw legs sticking out of the trash can on July 24, 2014. He died at a hospital three days later.

There were no signs of trauma and police determined no crime had been committed.

Frank Beshai, David Beshai’s brother, says the death makes no sense. He accused police of improperly investigating and wants an independent investigation.

Frank Beshai says his brother was gay and was the victim of a hate crime.
