GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - A driver is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after crashing into a historic Colorado radio station.

The person crashed into the brick building housing KFKA-AM in Greeley late Sunday night and the vehicle caught fire. The Greeley Fire Department says residents who saw the crash pulled the driver out before emergency responders arrived.

KFKA has been on the air since 1921 and says it is Colorado’s first commercially licensed radio station and the second oldest station west of the Mississippi. Damage done by the crash was covered up with plywood on Monday morning and the news talk station continued to broadcast.
