PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) - Emergency responders are mourning a Hermiston firefighter who died Friday in a motorcycle crash.

The East Oregonian reports (https://bit.ly/1Jq02Jo) 43-year-old Jason Anteau was a husband, father of two and volunteer firefighter who worked in Oregon’s transportation department.

Hermiston Fire & Emergency Services Chief Scott Stanton says the loss impacted many in the department who knew Anteau, a man who was always there to help.

Fire engines and emergency personnel lined up to escort Anteau’s body from Pendleton to a mortuary.

Stanton says officials are meeting Monday to discuss establishing a fund for the family.
